An evening of folk and country music entertainment is set to happen on Sunday March 20 at the Valois Restaurant and Motel (6 to 8 pm). Historical folk music songwriter Marc Audet (from Deep River) is teaming up with Mattawa’s Sandra Glabb (country folk recording artist) for a 2 hour show.

Sandra’s set will include homegrown tales... her personal experiences in song ... and her original Ottawa Valley favourites such as ‘Tears in the Mattawa River’, ‘Step 1,2,3 Waltz’ and ‘Sit Awhile With me’.

Marc’s set is going to include songs (and stories) about the history and heritage of the upper Ottawa Valley, such as a prison break from a POW camp at a lumber camp on the Nippissing River, the depot farm called Halfway House in from Deux Rivieres, the flooding of the Ottawa River from the big Rolphton hydroelectric project, a homestead accident at Stonecliffe, the story of Battle Hill between Bissett Creek and Deux Rivieres, and the travels of the voyageurs up the Ottawa and the Mattawa Rivers.
